The nose is very intense with hints of chocolate and coffee and the wine also delivers scents of red fruits, vanilla and pepper. On the palate, it is fresh and nicely structured with soft tannins and well balanced woody flavors.
Owner Jean-Noël Belloc has a property in Pessac-Léognan and another in Sauternes, but this is the first that came into the family’s ownership three generations ago. The tannins are a touch underripe, giving a lean mid-palate, despite having an attractive crunchy red fruit character, and some soft spicing on the finish.
